Lurk parts list and assembly tips

Assembly Tips

Use an epoxy or gorilla glue for one side of the ferrule, insert about 1/2+ way into one of the carbon fiber survey rod and let dry.

Put it together with the other 1/2 of the pole lurk and then you will drill a hole the size of your pushpin.  I used a 3/8” stainless steel pushpin.  Center that hole so it isn’t too close to an edge of the ferrule or the unfurled pole when it is put together.

Drilling this hole is the hardest/scariest part.  I would recommend a very steady hand with everything clamped down or a drill press is better yet. Carbon fiber isn't to bad to drill into, especially when you are going through the thick ferrule and the thinner survey rods at the same time to keep that holes perfectly aligned.  Depending on the push button you get, you’ll want 1/32-1/16” bigger.

Here are some parts links.  I have not used this survey rod, but they’re all pretty standard in the industry.  This one is probably the cheapest.  You’ll need to get two survey poles.
